GST will bring parity in tax payment and curb tax evasion, says Prakash Javadekar

Speculation and suspicion surrounding the Goods and Services Tax (GST) have no basis as the government is doing everything to address the issues concerning the new tax regime, Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar has said.

Speaking at India Today Midnight Conclave - Tryst with Tax - Prakash Javadekar, Minister for Human Resource Development, said GST will bring parity in tax payment and curb tax evasion.

Javadekar pointed out that apprehensions about any new step in natural and that political parties should refrain from create havoc around GST. "I am not saying every thing will be fine from the very first day, but we are prepared to address all issues concerning it," he said.
