The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has described the Goods and Services Tax (GST), which will be launched at a mega midnight Parliament event, as a great idea but slammed the Narendra Modi government over the way it is being implemented.
Speaking at India Today Midnight Conclave - Tryst with Tax - Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that GST may end up in a huge mess if issues concerning it are not resolved in time.
Sisodia also disapproved of the government's decision to celebrate the GST launch at a midnight event in Parliament.
He said, "When people will start paying taxes happily and there will be a shrink in the grey market, only then it will an occasion to celebrate, not now."
