Did Ektaa Kapoor take a dig at Ram Kapoor's weight loss? Producer breaks silence

Producer Ektaa Kapoor has addressed the confusion surrounding her Instagram video she posted, which many assumed was a veiled jab at Ram Kapoor. She cleared the air, emphasising that her post was personal and not intended as a comment on any individual—certainly not actor Ram Kapoor.

Ekta Kapoor was speaking on Day One of the India Today Conclave Mumbai 2025, during a session titled Queen of Content: Woman Who Shaped Indian Screens. 

Clarifying her intent, Ektaa said, "“This was exactly one week before I launched the Bade Achhe Lagte Hain promo, where the main character tries to fit into a medium. The promo was about body shaming, self-doubt, and self-assurance. Somehow, people took my post and spun it into something completely unrelated.”

The producer expressed disbelief at the connection made to actor Ram Kapoor. “I don’t know where Ram Kapoor came into this. He’s not a woman, not on TV right now, and he’s actually lost a lot of weight. It’s like I’m talking about my hair, and someone says, ‘Oh, you called me bald.’ Why would I do that?" she added.
