Prince Narula reveals why he took up The 50, reacts to 'mentor' row
Prince Narula, who is currently participating in The 50, opened up about his decision to participate in the reality show with his wife, Yuvika Chaudhary. He also reacted to several fans questioning his decision to participate in a show with contestants whom he had mentored at one point.

In just two episodes, Prince Narula has emerged as one of the strongest contestants on The 50. After winning the first task and helping his fan win Rs 1 lakh, he has also been showcasing his leadership skills by managing others in the house.
However, in an exclusive chat with India Today, the actor admitted that he didn’t want to do the show in the first place. It was his desire to do something for his fans that made him finally say yes. The 35-year-old also reacted to several fans questioning his decision to participate in a show with contestants whom he had mentored at one point.
“I don’t do reality shows anymore [as a contestant]. I have refused so many of them. But the team here convinced me that this is something very different from what I have done over the years. This is more like giving back to your fans. If you win the show, they will benefit from it. And for me, I have always wanted to be there for them, as my fans have done a lot for me. It’s because of them that I am here. And if I could help even a few of them through this show, that would mean the world to me. This was the only reason I said yes to the show; otherwise, I keep saying no to every other offer,” Prince said.
When asked if he’s trying to set a record for winning the maximum number of reality shows, Prince laughed and said, “I have set that record, and no one has been able to break it as of now. But if I do manage to win this, it would be a plus point. But I don’t think every show will be made for me. Now there are younger people, and it’s their time to shine. I do want to win everything I get into, but I will play the game to make it more entertaining. I want the show to become a hit so that when the next season comes, people want to touch my record. And if God is willing, I will also take home the trophy.”
Prince also stressed that in reality shows, the game changes every day. And while he is confident, he doesn’t want to be overconfident, as one bad day could mean the end of his journey.
The reality show contestant further discussed participating in the show with his wife, Yuvika Chaudhary. He shared that while there are multiple disadvantages, as people may target them, it’s always a strength to have a loved one around. However, he added that the couple had left their toddler at home with her grandparents, and that was the toughest decision for them.
“That is the only thing that has saddened and worried both of us. But I think when she grows up and is told that your parents were on this show when you were just one-and-a-half years old, and as a family we survived and won, she would be so proud,” the emotional father stated.
As readers would know, many on social media are criticising Prince for participating in a show with contestants whom he has mentored at one point. When asked about the same, the actor didn’t shy away from responding, as he said, “It’s not like that. If I have mentored them, it doesn’t mean that they are inferior to me. There are no biases like these on such shows."
"If it were a senior’s game, then they wouldn’t be here. And if it were just about them, we wouldn’t have been offered this. Yuvika is here, Urvashi Dholakia, or even Karan Patel. They have all been here for such a long time. As I already mentioned, most of us are doing this show for our fans, and hence all these comparisons are just noise for us,” he added.
On a final note, Prince reminisced about how much he has evolved and grown over the years. Stating that he is now calmer and more responsible, he also shared how shows like Roadies and Splitsvilla, which gave him a break, continue to offer opportunities for many young talents. As for his acting gigs, the actor signed off, saying, “Soon, very soon.”
The 50 streams on JioHotstar and has contestants like Nikki Tamboli, Arbaaz Patel, Mr Faisu, Ridhi Dogra, Shiny Doshi, Hamid Barkzi, Siwet Tomar, Manisha Rani, Archana Gautam, Sapna Chaudhary, among others.
