Amid the 'Sardaar Ji 3' controversy, singer Mika Singh exclusively spoke to India Today, expressing his disappointment in Diljit Dosanjh. The upcoming film, which features Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in the lead role, has sparked backlash in light of the strained relationship between India and Pakistan.
Calling out the 'Jatt and Juliet' actor, Mika said that Dosanjh should apologise and take down the related posts. He said, "Our relations with Pakistan are currently strained, and until things improve, it's important to be mindful of such decisions. If a mistake has been made, that's understandable - to err is human. In that case, I believe he should come forward and apologise. I want to make it clear that I am not against Diljit.
However, he has not removed his post, which gives the impression that he is unbothered by the concerns raised â whether by the public, the media, or even film associations. The truth is, many people werenât aware of Sardaar Ji 1 or 2, but Sardaar Ji 3 has caught attention primarily because it features a Pakistani actor. At the end of the day, we must prioritise our country above all else."
The film will release overseas on June 27.Â
