Hanumankind on Arijit Singh stepping away from playback singing: Got to respect that
Hanumankind has voiced support for Arijit Singh's decision to step away from playback singing, urging people to respect the singer's personal choice.

Rapper Hanumankind has reacted to Arijit Singh’s decision to step away from playback singing, stressing that the singer’s choice must be respected above all else. As the announcement continues to stir conversations across the music industry, Hanumankind highlighted the importance of mental well-being and balance in sustaining creativity.
Sharing his perspective, Hanumankind emphasised that Arijit’s decision comes from a deeply personal space. As per TOI, he said, “He comes from a different space. The man made the decision for himself. You got to respect that because there’s weight he carries with his work and he’s the only one that carries that. Whatever happens to the industry after that is secondary to the man," he said. His remarks echoed a growing sentiment that personal health should take priority over professional expectations.
Hanumankind, who is currently enjoying a strong run with his recent work, also spoke about burnout and the dangers of glorifying constant hustle. According to him, creativity cannot survive endless pressure. “Don’t focus on the music too long. You put too much fire, it burns. Take a step back. Too much of a good thing can become a bad thing," he shared, underscoring the need for balance.
The rapper further noted that recognising stress early is key to longevity in any creative field. “Learn to recognise that and figure out ways to let go. If you don’t have space, try and find it," he said, urging artists to prioritise mental breathing room. He also pushed back against the tendency to judge those who step away, adding, “Don’t blame people for crashing out and burning. Life is stressful. Sometimes it feels like everybody’s out to get you."
Arijit Singh had taken to Instagram on January 27 to announce that he would no longer accept new assignments as a playback vocalist. He wrote, “Hello, Happy new year to all. I want to thank you all for giving me so much of love all these years as listeners. I am happy to announce that I am not gonna be taking any new assignments as a playback vocalist from now on. I am calling it off. It was a wonderful journey."
