BTS comeback goes global with Netflix: Live concert, documentary; details to know
BTS are set to make their highly anticipated global return with BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, a landmark live performance streaming exclusively on Netflix on March 21.

Global pop phenomenon BTS has officially set the stage for its long-awaited return with BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG, a landmark live performance to be streamed exclusively on Netflix on March 21 at 8:00 PM KST (5:00 PM IST)
To be broadcast live from Gwanghwamun, one of Seoul’s most iconic and symbolic locations, the event marks BTS’ first global stage performance since their hiatus and celebrates the release of their new album, ARIRANG, arriving March 20. The performance will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, who is known for directing Super Bowl. Through its partnership with HYBE, Netflix will bring the group’s comeback to millions of viewers worldwide in real time.
The excitement doesn’t end there. The live show will be followed by BTS: The Return, an intimate documentary chronicling the making of ARIRANG. Premiering globally on March 27 exclusively on Netflix, the film offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the creative journey behind the band’s most anticipated chapter yet.
Directed by Bao Nguyen (The Stringer, The Greatest Night in Pop) and produced by This Machine in collaboration with HYBE, the documentary will offer unprecedented access to the band’s reunion journey.
Shot largely in Los Angeles, BTS: THE RETURN follows the seven members as they reunite after completing South Korea’s mandatory military service, returning to a shared creative space shaped by time apart, personal growth, and reflection. As anticipation builds for what many fans are calling “the comeback of the decade,” the documentary captures quieter, more introspective moments, how the group begins again, how they honour their past without being bound by it, and how they move forward together.
The Netflix collaboration follows the announcement of BTS’ new album and an expansive world tour. Their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, is described as a deeply reflective body of work that explores identity, roots, and artistic evolution. After its release, the group will embark on the ARIRANG World Tour (2026–2027), spanning 34 regions and 82 shows across Asia, North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond.
For those unaware, BTS- short for Bangtan Sonyeondan, or “Beyond the Scene”—are a GRAMMY-nominated South Korean group that debuted in June 2013. Comprising RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook, the group is known for its self-produced music, genre-spanning sound, and deep connection with fans worldwide, collectively known as ARMY.
Widely regarded as 21st-century pop icons, BTS have earned multiple No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 singles, delivered sold-out stadium tours across the globe, and received top honours including TIME’s Entertainer of the Year (2020). Beyond music, the group has amplified global conversations through initiatives such as the LOVE MYSELF campaign and their UN ‘Speak Yourself’ address.
Five-time GRAMMY nominees, BTS will release their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, on March 20, 2026, followed by a massive world tour, marking a return poised to leave a lasting imprint on pop culture.
