The next month and a half is crucial for both TMC and BJP as the Election Commission on Friday announced dates for the West Bengal assembly polls. Election to the 294-member West Bengal assembly will be held in eight phases. Last time, the assembly elections were conducted in seven phases. Voting for the first phase of the 2021 West Bengal election will be held on March 27 and for the last (eighth phase on April 27).
