Bengal polls: 70 per cent voter turnout recorded till 4 pm in phase 6

Voting is underway for 43 seats in Phase 6 of the West Bengal Assembly Polls and nearly one crore voters across four districts will cast their votes on Thursday. A voter turnout of 70 per cent was recorded till 4 pm in the sixth phase with East Burdwan witnessing the highest turnout at 75.20 per cent followed by Nadia at 74.01 per cent, Uttar Dinajpur at 71.96 per cent, and North 24 Parganas at 65.08 per cent.

Of the seats that are keenly watched in this phase, Krishnanagar Uttar happens to be one of them. Heavyweight BJP candidate Mukul Roy is up against Trinamool’s Koushani Mukherjee here. The other keenly watched seats are Barrackpur, Bhatpara, Bangaon South and Chapra.
