Congress adds secular sheen to alliances, BJP's muscular Hindutva agenda irks Tamil Nadu: Karti Chidambaram

Karti Chidambaram, speaking at India Today Conclave South 2021, said DMK was the leader of the alliance and the seat-sharing formula between the allies was a well-thought plan. He also said that Congress adds a secular sheen to the alliance while the BJP adds a negative value. On being questioned if Congress has tried to steer an anti-Modi agenda, Karti Chidambaram said the BJP being a Hindutva party was a fact and the saffron party wants to impose Hindi upon people of other states. "They want to thrust Hindi upon everything else. There is angst among the young people that Hindi is being imposed upon them. Their muscular Hindutva agenda irks people here [in Tamil Nadu]," Karti said
