Varun Gandhi opts out of Pilibhit contest: Sources

Varun Gandhi, BJP leader and MP from Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit, has decided not to contest from the seat in the upcoming polls, sources told India Today TV on Tuesday. The MP might not contest the elections at all due to the BJP ticket snub, sources added. Notably, in its fifth list of candidates, the BJP dropped Varun Gandhi from the Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat but retained his mother, Maneka Gandhi, from Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh.
