Mehbooba Mufti claims her party workers barred from voting, stages protest

People's Democratic Party (PDP) President and Anantnag candidate Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday staged a sit-in protest in Jammu-Kashmir's Anantnag alleging that her party workers were being barred from casting votes.

In an X post, Mufti wrote, "Many of our PDP polling agents and workers are being detained just before voting. When the families went to the police stations, they were told that its being done at the behest of SSP Anantnag and DIG South Kashmir."

"We've written to the Election Commission hoping for their timely intervention," she added.
