The curtains came down on a gruelling and high-octane campaigning for the Lok Sabha polls with the last phase set to vote on June 1. On the last day of campaigning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held rallies in Punjab while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi led the party's charge in Odisha.
Meanwhile, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh wrote a letter to voters of Punjab ahead of the seventh phase of polling. The Congress leader accused Modi of lowering the dignity of public discourse and the gravity of the office of the Prime Minister by giving 'hateful speeches'.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik addressed speculations about his health and said he was "perfectly alright" and had been campaigning for the Lok Sabha and state Assembly elections for the past one month.
