BSP's Mayawati promises to make western UP a separate state if voted to power

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati on Sunday said her party will take steps to make western Uttar Pradesh a separate state if voted to power at the Centre. 

"We will declare Western Uttar Pradesh as a separate state when our government will be formed in the centre, for the development of people of this region," Mayawati said while addressing a rally in Muzaffarnagar to support the BSP's candidate Dara Singh Prajapati.
