Why is Rahul Gandhi contesting from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala?

Congress declared on Sunday (March 31) that party president Rahul Gandhi will contest from Wayanad in Kerala in addition to Amethi in Uttar Pradesh. This will be the first time Rahul Gandhi will contest elections from two seats at once. Such a practice is not unprecedented though. Narendra Modi had contested from Varanasi and Baroda during 2014 Lok Sabha elections.
