Election Commissioner opts out of meets over clean chits to Modi

Top poll officer of Election Commission of India (ECI) Ashok Lavasa has skipped attending meetings citing ECI's clean chits to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP chief Amit Shah.

Ashok Lavasa had given a dissenting opinion in at least four cases, in which the election body did not find any kind of violation in the speeches of Prime Minister Modi and party chief Amit Shah.
