Decoding how South India voted in 2019 elections

Results of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections have shown that while the rest of India was swept under the 'Modi tsunami', five southern states had a slightly different story to tell.

Of the 130 seats in South India, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has won only 30. The BJP, however, won 25 of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka.
