All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for nominating Pragya Singh Thakur, accused in the Malegaon blasts from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat.
Speaking to India Today TV's Pankaj Khelkar, Asaduddin Owaisi said, "BJP would definitely want this country to become a Hindu Rashtra [nation] and that is why even Prime Minister Modi is saying that her candidature is kind of a symbol."
He added, "If prime minister believes that Pragya Singh Thakur is a symbol for him then the prime minister does not believe in the rule of law."
