Elections on my plate: Who will Bengaluru vote for?

Elections are conventionally fought on the promise of better governance as expressed in manifestos of political parties. Leaders launch poll campaigns highlighting weaknesses of the rival faction and big ticket promises from their own manifestos to boost their respective parties' chances to come to power.

Karnataka is witnessing a similar campaign even though no party appears to be seeking vote on the promises made in the manifesto. Top leaders from biggest rivals - the BJP and the Congress - Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, national president of the Grand Old Party, have launched a tirade to discredit each other.
