DK Shivakumar promises to restore 4% Muslim reservation if Congress forms govt in Karnataka

Speaking at India Today's 'Karnataka Roundtable 2023' event in Bengaluru, Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar promised to restore a four per cent Muslim reservation if Congress forms government in Karnataka. The state government decided that the 4 per cent quota of Muslims will now be given to Vokkaligas (2 per cent) and Lingayats (2 per cent) for whom two new reservation categories of 2C and 2D were created during the Belagavi Assembly Session last year.

"We are fighting on the state issues, the prime minister and home minister can't run the state", said DK Shivakumar when asked why Congress's national leaders were not campaigning in the state.
