Gujarat polls: 'Missing' AAP candidate resurfaces, takes back his candidature

In a stunning twist, the Aam Aadmi Party's Surat East candidate Kanchan Jariwala, who allegedly went missing for hours, resurfaced in Surat and withdrew his candidature amid heavy police deployment. The AAP alleged that he was kidnapped and pressured to withdraw his candidature at the behest of the BJP, a charge denied by the ruling party.

Meanwhile, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia staged a dharna outside the Election Commission's office in Delhi. He demanded that the election process in the constituency be put on hold till an impartial inquiry is held into the matter.
