Exclusive: 'Arvind Kejriwal defeated Arvind Kejriwal' in Delhi, says Swati Maliwal

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal reflected on her party's big loss in the Delhi Assembly elections, saying that it was Arvind Kejriwal who defeated Arvind Kejriwal. Elaborating on her views, the former Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief said that extreme arrogance took the better of Arvind Kejriwal, who always operated out of anger.

The AAP leader said that Arvind Kejriwal made tall promises and backtracked from many of his statements like those made with regard to taking a big house, security, a car and more.

Maliwal said that after winning 67 seats in 2015, 62 seats in 2020, and winning the Delhi civic polls, no body thought the AAP could be defeated in the capital. 

The AAP could manage only 22 out of 70 seats this time, while the BJP won the election by emerging victorious on 48 seats.
