UGC NET December 2025 Result Live Updates: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to announce the UGC NET December 2025 results by February 4 on its official website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in.

Candidates who appeared for the examination will be able to download their scorecards for the National Eligibility Test (NET) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by logging in using their application number and date of birth once the results are declared.

The results will be released after the completion of the final answer key process. NTA had earlier published the provisional answer keys and invited objections from candidates, which were reviewed before finalising the results.

The UGC NET December 2025–26 examination was conducted in computer-based test (CBT) mode from December 31, 2025, to February 7, 2026, covering 85 subjects across multiple shifts.

The exam determines eligibility for Assistant Professor positions, Junior Research Fellowship, and PhD admissions in universities and colleges across India.

Candidates are advised to keep their login credentials ready and regularly check the official website for updates, as the scorecards will be available for download for a limited period.

UGC NET 2025 December Result Live: What happens after the results?

Candidates who qualify for the Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) must secure admission to a PhD programme within three years to claim the fellowship benefits. Once enrolled, they are eligible for financial support as per UGC norms.

Those who clear the NET for Assistant Professor eligibility can apply for teaching positions at universities and colleges that recognise NET as a qualifying criterion.

Meanwhile, candidates marked â€œQualified for PhD onlyâ€ can use their NET score for doctoral admissions for a validity period of one year. In most universities, the NET score carries significant weight during admissions, typically contributing around 70 per cent to the overall selection process.
