The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kozhikode has officially announced the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 on December 24, 2025.
Candidates who registered for the national-level management entrance exam can now download their scorecards from the official website using their login credentials. The CAT is one of the most competitive MBA entrance exams in India, attracting lakhs of aspirants each year.
Around 2.58 lakh candidates appeared for CAT 2025, which was conducted on November 30 across India. Of these, 0.97 lakh were female, 1.61 lakh were male, and nine were transgender candidates, according to official data released by the CAT convening institute.
The scorecards display section-wise scaled scores and overall percentiles that will form the basis for shortlisting in IIMs and other top management institutes.
Announcing the results, Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, said that CAT 2025 was among the smoothest conducted in recent years. He also acknowledged the role of Prof. Ramkumar P N, CAT 2025 Convener and Admissions Chair, and congratulated successful candidates as they move into the next stages of the admission process.
This year’s results saw a mix of candidates from engineering and non-engineering backgrounds among the top performers.
Alongside, multiple candidates scored exceptional percentiles from 99.99 down to 99, showcasing intense competition and academic excellence.
WHICH STATE PRODUCED MOST CAT 2025 TOPPERS?
According to official data compiled from the CAT 2025 toppers list, the distribution of candidates who secured a perfect 100 percentile shows a spread across several states. Among the 12 candidates who achieved the highest possible score:
Delhi had the most, with three candidates
Haryana and Gujarat produced two toppers each
Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Odisha contributed one topper each
This indicates a wide geographic representation among India’s top CAT performers, with Delhi emerging as the single state producing the highest number of perfect scorers in 2025.
WHICH BACKGROUND DOMINATED AMONG CAT 2025 TOPPERS?
A clear trend in CAT 2025 was the strong presence of non-engineering candidates at the very top.
Among the 12 candidates who scored a perfect 100 percentile, nine were from non-engineering backgrounds, while three were engineering graduates. Gender-wise, the group included 10 male and two female candidates.
The trend continued in the 99.99 and 99.98 percentile brackets, where non-engineers again outnumbered engineers in several cases, indicating a shift from the traditional dominance of engineering students in CAT’s highest ranks.
CUT-OFFS AND ADMISSIONS
CAT 2025 cut-offs vary across IIMs, with top institutes such as IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta typically setting percentile thresholds between 85 and 95, depending on category and programme.
Mid-ranked IIMs generally maintain cut-offs in the 85–90 percentile range. Beyond the IIMs, 93 non-IIM institutions will also use CAT 2025 scores for admissions into their postgraduate management programmes this year, expanding opportunities for high-performing candidates.
IIMs will now begin releasing shortlists for the next stages of their admission processes, based on CAT scores and institute-specific selection criteria.
The announcement of CAT 2025 results has sparked excitement among aspirants nationwide, marking the beginning of the most crucial phase in India’s highly competitive MBA admission cycle.
