The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 could not be conducted at two examination centres in Bihar’s Vaishali (Hajipur) district following a disruption during the exam process.

The affected centres were St John’s Academy, Basmati Nagar, and Lakshya International Academy. The issue occurred on February 7, during Paper 2 of the CTET 2026 examination.

According to officials, the question paper reached St John’s Academy much later than scheduled, reportedly around 11 am, leading to chaos at the venue. Due to the resulting commotion and other unavoidable circumstances, authorities decided to cancel the examination at both centres.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) later clarified that the CTET 2026 examination was conducted smoothly across most of the country. Out of 1,803 exam centres nationwide, Paper 2 was successfully held at 1,801 centres, with only the two Vaishali centres facing disruption.

In an official statement shared on social media platform X, CBSE said the examination at the two centres could not be conducted due to unavoidable reasons. The board assured affected candidates that a re-examination would be organised within 15 days, and the revised schedule would be announced separately.

WHEN ARE CTET 2026 RESULTS EXPECTED?

The CTET 2026 results are likely to be declared in the last week of March 2026 or early April 2026. Candidates will be able to access their results on the official website ctet.nic.in as well as through DigiLocker.

Clearing the CTET makes candidates eligible to apply for teaching positions in central government schools such as Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and Army Public Schools. The qualification is also mandatory for recruitment through the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) and is accepted by several Union Territories. Additionally, many private schools now give preference to CTET-qualified candidates.

Importantly, the CTET certificate now carries lifetime validity, allowing successful candidates to apply for government teaching jobs at any point in their careers.
