Pace of Covid recovery is equally fast as speed of infection: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Thursday the pace of recovery is equally fast as the speed of Covid-19 infection. He also said that crores of people registered for the Covid vaccine on the government portal on Wednesday and that the process was carried out "seamlessly".

India saw a record spike of 3,79,257 new cases of Covid-19 and 3,645 deaths in the last 24 hours. This is for the eighth straight day when more than 300,000 fresh infections were recorded in April. The death toll due to Covid-19, meanwhile, climbed to 2.04 lakh following 3,645 fresh fatalities, the updated data showed. With this, a total of 1,50,86,878 people have recovered in India so far. Active cases in India, meanwhile, stand at 30,84,814 with over 15,00,20,648 vaccinated against the deadly disease.
