A study by the AIIMS-Delhi and the World Health Organisation has found that children will not be particularly vulnerable during the third Covid wave. The study found a high presence of antibodies among children and it is unlikely that any future third wave would disproportionately affect children two years or older.
The study, conducted in five states with a sample size of 10,000, was approved by the Institutional ethics committee of AIIMS (New Delhi) and other participating institutions. Out of 4,509 participants for whom data is available, 700 were less than 18 years of age and 3,809 were aged 18.
