ICMR approves self-testing kits for Covid-19, will be available soon

ICMR has approved a home-based testing kit for Covid-19. It is a home rapid antigen test (RAT) kit, which is advisable for symptomatic individuals and people who have come in contact with lab-tested Covid-positive people.

So far, only one company, Mylab Discovery Solutions Ltd, has been approved in India. DCGI has also approved the market availability of the home-based test kit.

The home-testing mobile app is available on Google Play Store and Apple Store and must be downloaded by all users. The mobile app will provide a comprehensive guide for the testing procedure.
