Centre to fast-track emergency approvals for foreign Covid-19 vaccines

After Sputnik V was granted emergency use authorisation on Monday, the central government has decided to fast track emergency approvals for other foreign Covid-19 vaccines too in order to expand the basket of vaccines for domestic use. This will help to increase the pace and coverage of vaccination at a time when the second wave of the pandemic is raging in India.

The government will expedite the authorisation of those vaccines that have been granted similar permissions in other countries.
