Pak to let down Trump, China main 'godfather': Ex-Indian envoy

Former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria on Friday predicted that US President Donald Trump would eventually grow frustrated with Islamabad, venting his anger on social media, and that the current warmth in ties would soon fade.

Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Bisaria said Pakistan is seeking global influence while engaging with the US under China’s blessing. He maintained that China is Pakistan’s primary "godfather", evident in Beijing’s collaboration with Islamabad during Operation Sindoor.

Supporting Bisaria’s view, senior Indian diplomat Jawed Ashraf highlighted the enduring yet complicated nature of US-Pakistan relations. He noted that the two countries have been allies for decades, fighting together in Afghanistan and spreading “Islamist fundamentalism” globally.
