Former Indian High Commissioner to Pakistan Ajay Bisaria on Friday predicted that US President Donald Trump would eventually grow frustrated with Islamabad, venting his anger on social media, and that the current warmth in ties would soon fade.
Speaking at the India Today Conclave, Bisaria said Pakistan is seeking global influence while engaging with the US under Chinaâs blessing. He maintained that China is Pakistanâs primary "godfather", evident in Beijingâs collaboration with Islamabad during Operation Sindoor.
Supporting Bisariaâs view, senior Indian diplomat Jawed Ashraf highlighted the enduring yet complicated nature of US-Pakistan relations. He noted that the two countries have been allies for decades, fighting together in Afghanistan and spreading âIslamist fundamentalismâ globally. Ashraf added that each new US administration is initially drawn to Pakistan, only to end in disappointmentâa pattern seen under Bush and Obama, and likely to repeat with Trump
