I am against everything that is anti people: Kamal Haasan at India Today Conclave 2018

Why did Kamal Haasan, a respected actor with a devoted fan following, start a new party when he could have strengthened an existing outfit, one with an army of cadres?

That was a question Padmaja Joshi asked 'Ulaga Nagayan*' today at the India Today Conclave in Mumbai, during a wide-ranging discussion on life, cinema and politics.

The actor's response?

"If I'm hungry...and what's available is rotten fruit...," he began in characteristically poetic fashion, underlining a point he made earlier in the interview - that in Tamil Nadu, mediocrity has become a standard, and "rubbish" has become acceptable.

"Ï am anti everyhting that goes against the people," Haasan stated.
