Room charges at Delhi's luxury hotels skyrocket ahead of India AI Impact Summit

A significant surge has been recorded in prices for rooms at major five-star hotels across Delhi as the city gears up to host the much-anticipated India AI Impact Summit. Renowned luxury hotels are charging as much as double their usual room prices for the period of the four-day event.
The high-profile event, which will be held at the Bharat Mandapam from February 16-20, is set to be attended by Artificial Intelligence (AI) experts, industry leaders and policymakers from across the world.
Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft president Brad Smith, and Nvidia founder Jensen Huang are among some of the most prominent figures from the tech world who are expected to attend the summit.
Over 35,000 visitor registrations from across more than 100 countries have been received so far for India AI Impact Summit 2026, as per the central government. As such, the high demand for hotel rooms has caused a heavy jump in prices.
Browsing through listings on online travel platform Booking.com, we found that a single guest seeking a stay at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel near Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport from February 16 through February 20 would have to pay Rs 1.6 lakh.
A similar price is expected at the Vivanta New Delhi in Dwarka.
Meanwhile, a four-night stay from February 16–20 at the Sheraton Hotel in Saket would cost a person more than Rs 2.2 lakh. The Holiday Inn Hotel near Mayur Vihar was found charging Rs 3 lakh per guest for the same period.
At the Taj Palace hotel in Chankyapuri, the room price per person for those four days and nights would cost more than Rs 4 lakh.
Visitors choosing The Oberoi may have to shell out Rs 6 lakh per person for a stay during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. The Claridges, too, may charge a guest around Rs 4 lakh for a room during that period.
Moreover, a room at The Leela Palace was listed at Rs 12.79 lakh, with an additional tax of Rs 2.30 lakh, for the four-day period.
Hospitality sector insiders say that during these four days, the demand for hotels will also remain high in view of the matches going to be played in Delhi for the ongoing T20 World Cup cricket.
