On camera: Multiple vehicles overturn as SUV rams into them in Chennai

A speeding SUV rammed into multiple vehicles on Poonamallee Highway in Chennai on Saturday, leaving six people critically injured. CCTV footage captured the moment when the SUV hit an autorickshaw, a two-wheeler, and parked cars near Egmore train station.

The autorickshaw was totalled, and its driver, three passengers, a two-wheeler commuter, and a bystander were injured. They are receiving treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital.

Eyewitnesses chased the SUV and caught two men, who claimed the driver had fled the scene. The incident occurred as traffic was moving slowly, and the SUV sped away after the crash.

Vepperi Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
