Monsoon rainfall batters Chennai, roads left water-logged | In Pics

Chennai witnessed its first spell of rainfall as the Monsoon arrived in Tamil Nadu on October 31. Several districts in the state are expected to receive bouts of rainfall, thunderstorms and lightning for the next few days. The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) in Chennai, which announced the onset of the Northeast monsoon on October 29, has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning at isolated locations as well till November 4.
