Two young women were taken into custody after allegedly assaulting a cab driver and creating a public ruckus in Bengaluru.

Two young women created a ruckus on a Bengaluru road and assaulted a cab driver, also abusing onlookers who had gathered, after their two-wheeler reportedly brushed against his vehicle on Saturday night, triggering an argument.
According to police sources, the women were returning from a meetup with friends when their scooter grazed the cab, sparking a confrontation with the driver, identified as Ahmed.
When the driver questioned them, the women allegedly abused him and attempted to flee the scene. Locals intervened and stopped them. During the altercation, they are accused of attacking the driver with a chain wrapped around the hand and making obscene gestures.
Videos of the incident showed the women abusing in the middle of the crowd and creating a scene. The woman appeared to be in an intoxicated state, though the police have not confirmed this.
Residents alerted the authorities, following which a case was registered at Hulimavu Police Station. The two women, identified as Lisa and Mathew, have been taken into custody and are being questioned.
