The accused, identified as Noman Sheikh, a local resident, lured the child to the mosque rooftop in the afternoon under the guise of offering prayers. He allegedly stayed there with the boy for 15 to 20 and had unnatural sex. The minor is reportedly in critical condition and is undergoing treatment at a hospital, officials said.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused has prior cases of assault registered against him.
Police reconstructed the incident, detailing how Noman exploited the pretext of teaching prayers to commit the assault. Local residents expressed outrage over the crime, assisting authorities during the reconstruction process.
A case has been registered, and the police have taken the accused into custody, preparing a panchnama (inquest report) of the incident.
Authorities continued to investigate the matter to determine the full extent of the criminal history of the accused and assured that the child will receive all necessary medical and psychological care.
