Osamu Suzuki conferred with Padma Vibhushan for contribution to auto industry

Osamu Suzuki, former Chairman of Suzuki Motor Corporation and ex-Director & Honorary Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India Limited, was posthumously honoured with the Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second-highest civilian award. The honour was presented by President Droupadi Murmu during a formal ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Accepting the award on behalf of his late father, Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, expressed heartfelt gratitude. “My sincere thanks to the Honourable President and Government of India for bestowing this honour upon my father. I believe he is looking down fondly on the 45 years he spent with India, his second home,” he said.
