Appointed Chairman of Tata Trusts, Noel Tata to succeed Ratan Tata

Noel Tata has been appointed as the new Chairman of Tata Trusts, effective October 11, following the death of his half-brother Ratan Tata on October 9 at the age of 86. The decision was reached unanimously by the board during a meeting in Mumbai. Tata Trusts, which owns a controlling 66% stake in Tata Sons, is integral to the governance of the Tata Group. Ratan Tata, who led both Tata Trusts and the Tata Group for decades, did not have any children and did not designate a successor before his passing, prompting the board to convene for this important leadership decision.
