Weekly auto update: From Bharat NCAP to TVS X electric scooter, all important details from auto space

The much-awaited Bharat New Car Assessment Programme or Bharat NCAP was launched this week. With an aim to enhance vehicle safety standards in India, this initiative will apply to the M1 category of vehicles with a gross weight of less than or equal to 3,500 kilograms.

Bharat NCAP will begin from October 1. It is a voluntary programme in which the base variant of any given model will be tested.

BMW India opened bookings for the 2 Series Gran Coupe M Performance Edition. Also, Lexus India commenced bookings for the LM.

TVS Motor Company launched the X premium electric scooter, priced at Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Besides, Hero MotoCorp introduced the new Glamour at a starting price of Rs 82,348 (ex-showroom).
