Renault Duster launch highlights: Features, engines, price and everything you need to know

Renault India is set to revive one of its most iconic badges with the launch of the new Duster on Republic Day 2026, signalling a major step in the French carmaker’s renewed push in the Indian market. The older Duster was discontinued in 2022, the Duster’s return marks Renault’s re-entry into the fiercely contested mid-size SUV segment, one that has grown rapidly and now dominates buyer interest.

When it first arrived in India, the Duster played a pivotal role in shaping the mid-size SUV segment. With this new iteration, Renault is betting on a familiar nameplate and nostalgia, backed by modern underpinnings, to rebuild its footprint in an SUV-led market.

The third-generation Duster is a cornerstone of Renault’s global ‘renault.rethink’ transformation. Unlike its international counterpart, the India-spec Duster is expected to feature notable changes tailored to local tastes and conditions. These are likely to include revisions to exterior styling, a reworked cabin layout, and a revised feature set aimed squarely at segment benchmarks. Renault is also expected to introduce new powertrain options including hybrid engine, underpinned by an all-new platform, bringing the Duster in line with evolving emission norms and customer expectations.

The official launch event is scheduled for 7pm today, where Renault will reveal full details including pricing, specifications, engine choices and equipment levels. Once on sale, the new-generation Duster will take on established rivals such as the Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos etc.
