It's a tsunami of a win for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttar Pradesh (UP). The BJP has taken a massive lead over its rivals - the Samajwadi Party-Congress combine and Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) - winning a three-fourth majority in the crucial state. The headache, however, will begin now for the BJP as it has to decide on the CMÂ face.
Â
In an exclusive interview with India Today, UP BJP in-charge, Om Mathur, said, "One of the BJP party workers will be the CM. Our party's Central Parliament board and the team of legislators will decide the next chief minister for UP."
Â
"This victory is just a beginning for a 'Congress-free' India", he added.
Â
Riding on a still-potent Narendra Modi wave, the party is set to sweep back to power after 14 long years, giving the Prime Minister his biggest victory after the 2014 Lok Sabha election.
