Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat said that his state was being developed as high-end tourism and Bollywood-friendly state.
Speaking at Agenda Aaj Tak in New Delhi, he said, "The film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu was almost completely shot in Uttarakhand."
"When this film was being shot, it came to my notice that we charge Rs 10,000 a day from the film shooting team. We revoked the policy of charging fee of Rs 10,000."
"They came to Uttarakhand. The entire unit had booked hotels for 65 days. They were adding to our revenue. It was prudent to waive off the shooting fee. And, we later got an appreciation award from the film industry people," Rawat said.
